CARLA PONTES (Soprano)
Nasceu em Lisboa e licenciou-se em ensino artístico, tendo iniciado os seus estudos de canto lírico com a professora Birgit Wegemann, em 2004. Desde então, frequentou workshops, cursos, seminários, aulas particulares e masterclasses, em Portugal e no estrangeiro. Apesar da sua formação em canto lírico, sempre se sentiu confortável noutros estilos musicais. Paralelamente da sua actividade artística como cantora, providencia aconselhamento e preparação de jovens e adultos para audições, concursos e castings televisivos, bem como aulas particulares de técnica vocal. Realizou estudos e formação no âmbito da terapia do som e particularmente da exploração terapêutica da voz, corpo e movimento, trazendo esta abordagem para as aulas e sessões que realiza. Numa descoberta constante da ligação da voz com a essência de cada um, realiza retiros e sessões de libertação vocal e expressão emocional através da voz. Carla Pontes was born in Lisbon and graduated in art education, having started her classical singing studies with Birgit Wegemann in 2004. Since then she attended several workshops, courses, seminars, private lessons and masterclasses in Portugal, and abroad. Besides her singing activity, she provides private lessons, advice and prepares young people and adults for auditions, television contests and castings. Carla also studied sound therapy with a strong focus on the therapeutic voice exploration, as a constant discovery of the link between the voice phenomenon and the essence of each person, bringing this approach to her sessions. HELENA MADEIRA (Harp)
Licenciada em Antropologia e Língua Italiana, iniciou o estudo do canto lírico com Fernando Serafim na Juventude Musical Portuguesa em 2004, tendo frequentado posteriormente, durante três anos, o curso de Canto e Harpa no Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa. Efectuou ainda, outra uma breve passagem pela Escola de Jazz do Hot Club em Lisboa, mas define-se sobretudo como autodidata, atribuindo grande importância aos encontros com músicos de outros países, sobretudo em viagens à Costa Ocidental Africana. Foi no mundo da música “folk” que deu os primeiros passos rumo a uma carreira profissional. Entre 2006 e 2014 foi vocalista da banda de world music MU, com quem gravou o álbum Casanostra em 2008 (Prémio Carlos Paredes 2009) e Folhas que Ardem em 2012 e com quem se apresentou ao vivo em Portugal, Espanha, Londres, Suécia, Roménia, Malásia e Índia. Em finais de 2014 apresentou o seu primeiro disco a solo Da Voz do Embondeiro, no Teatro Lethes em Faro. Desde então, além de ter actuado em Portugal de Norte a Sul, já foi convidada a tocar em Espanha, Brasil e em Cabo Verde. A par destes trabalhos originais, integrou muitas outras parcerias musicais, nomeadamente no Hotel Ritz em Lisboa, ao lado do pianista Artur Guimarães, e da cantora Sofia Escobar em Setembro de 2016 e tocando frequentemente com o projecto LYRA ao lado da soprano Carla Pontes. Encontra-se de momento a compor o seu próximo trabalho discográfico, num regresso às raízes portuguesas, onde a harpa se assume como rainha soberana na composição musical. +info

Graduated in Anthropology and Italian Language, Helena Madeira began her studies of lyrical singing with Fernando Serafim in the Portuguese Musical Youth in 2004. She also attended for three years, the Singing and Harp course at the National Conservatory of Lisbon, and take part of the first year of Singing at the Jazz Music School in Lisbon.
However she is mainly self-taught, giving the greatest importance to the meetings with musicians from other countries, especially on her trips to the West African Coast. It was in the world of “folk music” that she took the first steps towards a professional career. Between 2006 and 2014 she was the lead singer of the world music band MU, with whom she recorded the album Casanostra in 2008 (Carlos Paredes Prize 2009) and Folhas que Ardem in 2012 and with whom she performed live in Portugal, Spain, London, Sweden, Romania , Malaysia and India. At the end of 2014 she presented her first solo album Da Voz do Embondeiro, at the Lethes Theater in Faro. Since then, in addition to having performed in Portugal from North to South, she has already been invited to play in Spain, Brazil and Cape Verde. In addition to these original works, she joined many other musical partnerships, namely at the Hotel Ritz in Lisbon, with the pianist Artur Guimarães and the singer Sofia Escobar in September 2016, and playing very often in LYRA project with the soprano Carla Pontes.
